Your Mindset is Shaping Your Results

Uncategorized Feb 19, 2020

Whether you think you can, or think you can not — you are right. A famous quote by Henry Ford. A quote you should have in your mind every second of your day.

Your thoughts create your results. It's that easy. Nothing more, and nothing less.

How often have you told yourself that you can't? And then didn't go through with it? I guess it has happened, right? And not only one time either.

It sure has happened to me. More than once.

You see,
Having thoughts like these makes you not go all in. You are slow walking instead of giving it your everything. Because you think you can not.

"I'll try"

Stop using the phrase "I'll try".
Using this phrase is like showing yourself and those around you that you really do not want to get to the finish line.
Tell me... If I told you that you had just won 1 billion dollars and asked you to come and get your prize — would you have answered me with the phrase, "I'll try..."? I guess not....

I want to quit my job!

Uncategorized Feb 09, 2020

How often have you said those words the last year? You want a new career, but have no clue where to start or what to do.

I know the feeling. "Been there, done that".

I was thinking, wondering, and had a lot of fears. I did not know the steps I could take, nor when to take them.

I needed one thing: I needed clarity.

I needed to know what I could do, if it was something that would be achievable — for me, and for my family.

I was going around in circles.

Then, one day, I said to myself: if I EVER come out of this without losing it all, I will help others in my situation.

During the last couple of years, I have had this opportunity. Helping others who now are in a place where I was back then. As well as creating my own business at the same time.

You see, I quit my job back then. I started my own Norwegian company called Einang Safety Consult. A company that is all about fire prevention, leadership training and HSE.

And I made it.

But, there were bumps in...

Maybe it's something else that makes you want to change your career

Uncategorized Jan 25, 2020

Have you thought of that you wanting to change your career might be a substitute for something else?

You know... It might be! Just like it was for a customer of mine a few months ago.

I will not mention my customer's name, what course she participated in — or what her dream was really all about.

What I will share with you is this:

I had been in contact with her for more than a year before she jumped on to one of my courses. I really liked this woman. She was so full of energy, so full of dreams — and she had many of the same values as myself when it came to family, children, hobbies and work.

So when I saw her name in the list of participants on a course I had created, I felt really excited! I could finally work with this woman!

I also have to admit that I was really curios where she would end up. I knew from we spoke the first time that she wanted to change her career to something totally opposite of what she did when we talked the first time....

Should I stay or should I go?

Uncategorized Jan 20, 2020

Do you remember this song? "Should I stay or should I go nooooow" ...It was one of the songs on my very first CD back in those days. I heard it over and over again.

Not because the lyrics meant something special to me, but because I though the song was so cool. I felt so cool listening to it. I just really liked it.

How should I know that many years later, the same words would go on — over and over in my head. "Should I stay or should I go?" Should I stay in my job, or should I follow this dream I had?
I asked myself this question over and over again. For months and months.

I knew what I had. I had a safe income. I had good colleagues. I had a good job. What I didn't know was what I could expect if I quit my job and went all in on my new dream.

What if I didn't make it? What if I had big regrets? What if we went bankrupt? What if? What if?

It was the first thing I thought about when I woke up in the morning. And the last thing I was...

Let's do some real tough visualization to help you make up your mind!

Uncategorized Jan 05, 2020

Let's begin 2020 with a REALLY tough visualization exercise. You have to be honest with yourself. You have to take action as well. Either one way or the other. Are you in?

First, I need to say that you can use this exercise on all areas of your life — not just regarding your career. It's just as mind blowing when it comes to your relationships, your health, and other areas of your life.

I use to do this exercise with my clients throughout our coaching and courses. But you can do it yourself as well. Like I said in the beginning: The important thing is that you are honest with yourself and honor your feelings.

Read to the end of this blog post before you start. Then you know what to do next — and why.

This exercise starts by you closing your eyes, taking three deep breaths — and asking yourself this question:

"How will I feel if I continue on the path I'm on right now?"

Hold your eyes closed while you answer...

How To Plan Your Way Into A New Decade

Uncategorized Dec 30, 2019

Earlier this year I wrote a blog post called "Planning is like watering your plants. It's crucial!". That blog post became one of the most popular this whole year! So, I thought that before we end this decade we need to take one step further — and learn how to plan your way into a new decade!

Are you ready?

Let's dig into how to plan this new decade. This new time frame. This new beginning!

I need to start this by asking you a crucial question:

Do you have a goal?

Or is it yet just a vague dream? If it's still just a vague dream, let's see how we can make a SMART goal out of it!
(...Those of you who know me, know that I'm a  H U G E  fan of so called SMART goals).

Let me give you an example that you might recognize when it comes to
a dream VS a goal:

I can say that I want to visit Italy. I have that on my Bucket List. It seems like a beautiful country, with delicious food and beautiful scenery. This is a dream that I have. The minute...

A big ugly trap called shiny objects

Uncategorized Dec 11, 2019

How many times haven’t we read or heard about someone who has had BIG regrets because of something they have done?

They got trapped by something shiny. Something that seemed so fantastic, seemed so over the moon great — so they went all in. Without any goal setting or planning.

They went all in without making the foundation. Without knowing for sure that THIS is "my thing!" This is what I want to do, this is what I can do!

They just started out because it seemed like a quick fix, or something everyone else did (so than it would work for them as well…)

…We don’t want you to get there, right? Nope!

Okay… So where do I go from here, you might ask.

You have to be working on your goal. Like: working big time!

Just to see if it’s reachable. Like if you have a goal of becoming a pilot. Then one of the tasks you have to do is to take a test of your vision, right?

Let’s say that the eye doctor says...

From the minute you wake up

Uncategorized Nov 04, 2019

It’s all about mindset, from the minute you wake up in the morning. Having a good morning routine where you work on your mindset is a crucial part of getting where you want to go.

It’s like you sow seeds every morning, because you want a great harvest in the end.

You don’t want to sow damaged seeds. But you do want to give the seeds the right care and the right amount of water, so they can grow and become of great value to you and your loved ones.

You start from the minute you wake up in the morning. You plant your seeds the minute you open your eyes.

Here is what your morning routine is going to look like, from you wake up tomorrow and for the rest of this program (and hopefully longer!).

(....To my blog readers: this blog post is taken from my program called Claim Your Dream Career. That is the reason for me saying that "this is your morning routine for the rest of this program")

  1. Write down 3 things you are grateful for...

Top Mistakes to Avoid When Following Your Passion

Uncategorized Oct 19, 2019

Life is all about deciding to follow your passion, but sometimes the journey can be overwhelming.

Following your passion means taking responsibility for your path in life.

The tendency is to want to "get it right" on the first try and not make any mistakes.

Not just a tiny one.

Unfortunately, this never happens.

When you try to control a situation, it is usually out of fear, which you may not be aware that you have. Doing things out of fear usually ends in unintended, less than optimal results. I can be the first one to agree on that one!

In this blog post you will find some of the most common mistakes people make when following their passion and how to avoid them:

The Perfection Trap

When you are pursuing your dreams, you want to try to avoid making grandiose plans. You don't have to find the one perfect passion, but instead, you need just to follow the clues in front of you.

Step back and look at what you can do today, and then pick what excites you....

The Power of Visualization

Uncategorized Oct 04, 2019

So many of us would say that we stopped visualizing as we grew older. Do you agree? I don't.
Raise your hand if you would normally visualize any of the following:

  • the boring meeting you're about to enter this morning

  • a dinner party with that sneaky neighbor of yours

  • your needed weekend after a long week with a filled calendar

We all make those pictures in our minds. Both positive and negative ones. What's true is that as a child we had most positive pictures. As a child we thought we could become Superman or have a unicorn in our garage. Now we know that we can't, right?

As we grow older, our pictures become more of the negative ones. We make ourselves those negative pictures when it comes to our economy, our next meeting — or  the possibilities to get where we really want to go in our lives and our career.

That is so sad! But at the same time, it's so true!
Don't you agree?

Those pictures are our visualization.

If we...
